Getting to UCD:



UCD is located on the Belfield campus in Dublin 4, which is about 4km from Dublin city centre. The conference will take place in UCD’s Humanities Institute, which can be found on the map below (Building number 30):

From the airport:
If travelling to UCD directly from the airport, you can get the ‘Aircoach’ to UCD by taking the following bus: ‘700: Dublin airport to Leopardstown/Sandyford.’ The current price of an adult return ticket from Dublin airport to UCD is €16, while a one-way ticket costs €10. Travel time from Dublin Airport to UCD by aircoach is approximately 45 minutes.

There are also taxis available from the airport, though they will be considerably more expensive than a bus (at least €30 to UCD).


From Dublin city centre:

By bus:
UCD is well-served by Dublin Bus, one of Dublin’s main public transport infrastructures. There are several buses that go to UCD from various stops in Dublin city centre, including:
- 39A (Direction: UCD Belfield): This bus goes directly to UCD, with its terminus on the campus (Stop 767).
- 46A (Direction: Dun Laoghaire): If getting this bus, you must get off at stop number 2007 – Stillorgan Road, UCD. This stop is just a five minute walk from the entrance to UCD campus.
- 145 (Direction: Ballywaltrim): If getting this bus, you must get off at stop number 2007 – Stillorgan Road, UCD. This stop is just a five minute walk from the entrance to UCD campus.
- 47 (Direction: Belarmine): If getting this bus, you must get off at stop number 2007 – Stillorgan Road, UCD. This stop is just a five minute walk from the entrance to UCD campus.

[It is important to be aware that you will buy your bus ticket on the bus and you can only pay in cash – Dublin bus does not accept notes and you will not be given back change. Most bus fares will either be €2.10, €2.85 or €3.30, depending on where you get your bus – just tell the bus driver where you are going and he will let you know the price.]

By taxi:
If you are getting a taxi from the city centre (O’Connell Street/Trinity College/Grafton Street for example) to UCD, it can cost approximately €10-€20.
